We are the Glasgow Amateur Flute Ensemble, an enthusiastic group of around 30 amateur flautists and percussionists, based in Lorne Street Primary school in Glasgow. We are non-political and non-sectarian and our constitution reflects this policy. We rehearse on a Friday evening with exception being Christmas and summer school holidays.

Our learners class begins at 6:30pm and is for all ages and levels, the complete beginner or novice or if not played for a while we can accommodate and structure the tuition to the individuals needs. Tuition and flutes provided free of charge along with learning material in an adjacent room on a one to one basis with the tutor. Our full rehearsal begins at 7:15pm and finishes at 9:15pm.

The conducting team are as follows: Conductor: Ms. Aisling Agnew, Deputy Conductor: Ms. Rachel Forbes, Percussion Tutor: Ms. Jemma Knox, Flute Tutor: Ms. Susan Gilchrist.

We are available to perform a concert for your own community event, organisation, school or church, as a fundraising event for your own group or for your charity. Recent concerts we have assisted with, for various causes, include Old Kilpatrick’s Pals summer event in Victoria Park, Peruvian orphanage, Alzheimer Scotland, the Meningitis Trust and other organised fundraisers.
